Respecting Penny’s Ground

Henry Penny
of Yeovil in the
County of
Somerset Esquire
do hereby
promise and
agree that I my
heirs executors
or
administrators
shall and will
at all times
hereafter during
the natural life
of my present
wife upon every
reasonable
request produce
or cause to be
produced unto
John Moody of
Sherborne in the
County of Dorset
Excise Officer
and other the
owner or owners
for the time
being of a
certain Close of
pasture land
called Pennys
Ground situate
in the parish of
Yeovil aforesaid
and numbered
1145 [see Map] on the
present map of
the said parish
and lately sold
and this day
conveyed by me
to the said John
Moody his
appointees heirs
and assigns or
any part or
parts of the
same Close or to
his two or their Attornies or
agents (at the
Dwellinghouse or
Dwellinghouses
of myself my
heirs executors
or
administrators
at [word
illegible] or
their costs and
charges but
elsewhere in
England at the
costs and
charges of the
person or
persons
requiring the
same) a certain
Indenture of
Settlement made
previously to
and in
contemplation of
my marriage with
my present wife
bearing date the
twenty eight day
of September one
thousand eight
hundred and
seven and made
between me the
said Henry Penny
of the first
part
my said
wife (then
Elizabeth Gould
Spinster) of the
second part and
Morgan Gould
(father
of the said
Elizabeth Gould)
of the third
part (whereby my
said wife is
barred of all
Dower and right
and title of
Dower out of the
said Close) And
also that I my
heirs executors
or
administrators
shall and will
at the costs and
charges of the
person or
persons
requiring the
same make and
Deliver or cause
to be made and
delivered
to him
them or any of
them or to such
person or
persons as he or
they shell
require one or
more copy or
copies for
extracts from
the said
Indenture and
permit and
suffer the same
or any other
Copy or copies
and extracts to
be examined and
compared with
the said
Indenture As
