fountain inn
Location Unknown
The Fountain Inn was an eighteenth century alehouse, but its location remains unknown. The five references to it are shown below. The amount recorded against it - £1 12s 9¼d - in the 1798 Land Tax Redemption Register would suggest that the premises were quite substantial (compared with, say, the Castle in Middle Street which was rated at £1 10s 8½d).
Nothing else is known.
