Despite extensive searching, only the one reference so far, which is from the 1 October 1869 edition of the Western Gazette which, in reporting the proceedings of the Borough Petty Sessions, recorded "A license was granted to Mr John Connock, of the Cooper's Arms, who failed to prove the service of the usual notices at the last meeting".
