Under Gage Hill

Under Gage Hill

A field within the Manor of Hendford

Under Gage Hill (Parcel 788) was originally a steep triangular field within the Manor of Hendford and to the immediate north of the lands of Aldon Farm.

At the time of the 1846 Tithe Apportionment, Under Gage Hill was owned by glove manufacturer William Hooper Masters and let to James Squire. Under Gage Hill was recorded as pasture for grazing livestock and measured 3a 0r 0p.

Under Gage Hill (Parcel 788) was bordered on the north by Nursery (Parcel 782), to the east by Tucker's Mead (Parcel 787) and to the south by Gage Hill (Parcel 789).

Today, the former Under Gage Hill is the wooded hillside to the immediate north of Southwoods.
